Meditation for the Heart
The longest book in the Bible is Psalms and while written by several authors the, beloved King David wrote nearly half of them. The Psalms cover a wide range of human emotions, feelings and thoughts as the authors pour out their hearts and soul to God during trials of deep despair, sorrows, pain and suffering.
It is through their God inspired words where we learn God’s greatness, His power, His sovereignty, His wisdom, His love, His truth, His peace and all the fullness of His joy. We discover how nourishing, enlightening, and encouraging it is to praise Him, exalt Him and worship Him in reverent awe and holiness.
The Psalms are written as a wonderful and marvelous reminder of His never-ending love, His mercy, His comfort, His guidance, and instruction on how best to obey and serve Him with gratitude and thanksgiving.
Whatever circumstances or struggles you are facing right now in your life spend time in the book of Psalms and your heart and mind will be restored and refreshed as you read these priceless treasures.
Just let these 10 Psalms fill your heart, mind and soul as you meditate and allow God to speak to you this week. You’ll be amazed if you read these verses first thing in the morning and or before going to bed at night how refreshed you will feel.
Psalm 16:11 “O Lord show me the path of life; for in your presence is fullness of Joy and at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Psalm 19:7- 11 “ The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statues of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether, More to be desired are they than gold, sweeter than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.
Psalm 19:12-14 “ Who can understand his errors ? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless and I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."
Psalm 23:1-6 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake. Yea, thought I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me, You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Psalm 25:4,5 “ Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths, Lead me in Your truth, For You are the God of my salvation.”
Psalm 25:8-11 “ Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. For Your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.”
Psalm 25:14,15 “ The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant, My eyes are ever toward the Lord.”
Psalm 25:20,21 “Keep my soul, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me.”
Psalm 27:1 “ The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear ? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid ? “
Psalm 37:3-6 “ Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the Land and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord and He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noonday.
