I AM WHO I AM
There is not a more powerful five word combination in all the world, as the statement; “I AM WHO I AM” The words exalt and command immediate attention and reverent awe of Who God is. They remind us of His greatness, His divine power, His sovereignty and that He is the Master and Creator of all the universe and everything in it.
Just let these powerful five words fill your heart, mind and soul. Let God speak to you through these verses and give you nourishment for the day and throughout the week.
Exodus 3:14 “ I AM WHO I AM” This was the answer from God to Moses as to what He would say to the people of Israel who were in bondage to slavery in Egypt.. “ Thus you shall say to the children of Israel; I AM has sent me to you.” God was, is, and has always existed.
Isaiah 44:6 “ I Am the First and I Am the Last; Besides Me there is no God. He is the creator of all things and affirms His supremacy over all creation.
Revelations 1:8 “ I Am the Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the End. Says the Lord, “ Who is and Who was and Who is to come, The Almighty.” God has always been and is the infinite, supreme ruler of past, present and future existence.
These Seven all powerful I AM verses found in the Gospel of John and spoken by Jesus Christ Himself, speak of His supremacy and almighty power. Do not just give them a quick glance; Embrace them, memorize them, and embed them into your heart, mind and soul.
John 6:35 “ I am the bread of life, he who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” Not only does God provide our daily physical nourishment but provides us with our spiritual nourishment for salvation.
John 8:12 “ I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” The light is walking in the truth of God’s word not in the darkness of sin, evil and death. The light is the life that He gives to the whole world. Without light we could not exist.
John 10:9 “ I am the door of the sheep. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved.” The Son of God is the only way of being saved from sin and hell and receiving eternal life through faith. (see Matthew 7:13,14 for additional study)
John 10:11 “ I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” Jesus Christ the man who knew no sin, died a death that we deserve, so that we could live with Him through faith on into everlasting life.
John 11:25 “ I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me, though they may die, shall live, and he who lives and believes in Me shall never die.” Only God has the power to raise the dead and is the giver of all life.
John 14:6 “ I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is the Only way to God. There is no other truth or way to heaven.
John 15:5 “ I am the vine and you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing.” Just like branches on a tree cannot live without the life giving roots, we cannot live without the life giving spirit. Those who are dead in the spirit are cut away from the vine and are separated from God.
