Freedom of Choices
One of so many of God’s gifts that He has so abundantly given to us is our ability to freely make choices for ourselves. The choices we make in how to live our lives, what we do, where we live, and who to be with, to name just a few.
Our heavenly Father in His infinite, unsearchable wisdom was able to masterfully create that 3 lbs. of mass that sits inside our skull to process information and data at lightening speed. Colossians 2:2,3 “ the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
The miracles of the complexity and the functions of the brain are astounding; 90 percent of the brain is still a mystery to science; while we use all of our brain, they (science) has yet to determine how it all functions like it does. The brain can transmit 1016 impulses/second which is 30 times more powerful than the world’s fastest computer. It takes 13 milliseconds for the brain to process what the eyes see. Brain tissue the size of a grain of sand contains 100,000 neurons(cells) and 1 billion synapses, which is the tissue connection the cells to one another.
God gave us our minds to create, think, reason, learn, make decisions, meditate, ponder and to live our lives all based on the choices available to us here in this world. His deepest desire and purposes for us is to carry out His will and to lead our lives according to His ways of righteousness and goodness.
Our life is what our thoughts make it and is based on the choices we make and the actions we take on any given moment.
We choose how we feel, our friends, our mates, our careers and jobs, having families, how we spend our money, our time our fun, our hobbies and where we live.
Whatever struggles, issues, and concerns you are having in your life right now can all melt away by simply choosing to accept and acknowledge God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Proverbs 16:3 “ Commit your works to the Lord and your thoughts will be established.”
There are few things that we have control over or can do anything about in this world. We cannot control the weather, the government, cannot control other people, death, unforeseen circumstances, famine, drought, diseases, and tragic events. One thing we do have control over is how we think, how we react and respond to other people and events that occur to us in our daily lives.
Colossians 3:1,2 “ Setting my heart and mind on things above with Christ.”
At any given moment, you can choose how you want to live your life. How you feel about yourself, your thoughts, and what actions or response you can take based on the choices, the good Lord has given us. Here is a partial list of choices that show God’s way vs Satan’s ways.
Isaiah 48:17 “ I am the Lord who teaches you and leads you by the way you should go.”
List of Choices
We become what we think about the most ! If you have a lot of thoughts on the right side of this list, then you will indeed continue to struggle with your life, much like I have. Hosea 10:13 “ You have plowed wickedness; you have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, because you trusted in your own ways.”
Make a conscious effort today to begin using the God given gift of your mind and your heart, and use the freedom of choices from the left side of this list. Choose to embrace and commit to God’s way of living and your life will suddenly take on new meaning and purpose. 1 John 4:4 “He that is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
Allow God into your life and enlighten your eyes to the riches of His Love, Truth and Peace.
Start today – Don’t delay and change your life - Let the words of God speak to you and be filled with a peace and joy beyond measure.
