Are You Considered a Fool in God’s Eyes?
My friends, I ask this question because that is what I was for fifty-three years. I was an unbeliever with a hardened heart, totally ignorant, a fool and blind to the truth of God’s Word. Even though I attended church early in my adult life I had no desire to truly know God. Never read the Bible, did very little praying, and lived my life according to what the world had to offer and lived according to what I thought was good, right, and true.
The Apostle Paul speaks this truth according to God’s wisdom and the foolishness of man. 1 Corinthians 1:18-23 “ For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks[gentiles] foolishness”
Ask yourselves these questions to find out where Christ stands in your life if at all.
Do you neglect God’s Word? Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Do you refuse corrections? Proverbs 17:10 “ Rebuke is more effective for a wise man than a hundred blows on a fool.” Proverbs 18:7 “A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.”
Do you trust in yourselves? Proverbs 28:26 “He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered.”
Do you speak out rashly? Proverbs 18:2 “ Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.” NIV
Do you lose control? Proverbs 14:16 “A wise man fears and departs from evil, but a fool rages[hotheaded] and is self-confident.”
Do you have no fear of the Lord? Proverbs 1:29 “Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord,”
Do you repeat the same old sin-filled ways of life? Proverbs 26:11 “ As a dog returns to his vomit so to does a fool to his folly”
Are you the worst kind of fool who says There is no God? Psalm 14:1 “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” they are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.”
John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
It’s never too late my friends to turn back to the loving, forgiving ways of Christ and allow Him to transform your life into ways you never thought possible. Start today with no delay and let the rich words of Christ fill you with a peace and joy beyond measure.
