What it Means to Praise the Lord
What does it mean to Praise God? It means to revere, adore and exalt God for who He is and what He does. God Almighty is our Creator, Sustainer, and our Redeemer. It is acknowledging, honoring, and expressing our Lords greatness, holiness and His majesty.
Praising God is ALL ABOUT GOD and focuses on His Divine Supreme Nature only. It is saying Father, You are faithful, You are praiseworthy, You are Holy and Just, You are truthful, You are forgiving and Your plans and commandments are right. Our full attention and focus is directed toward God and who He is.
Let these five Psalms fill your heart, as you pour out your praise to God this week and everyday.
Psalm 100:1-5 “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands.Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into the gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name, For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations."
Psalm 107:8,9 “ Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men. For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.
Psalm 145:3,5,8,9 “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable. I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondurous works. The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”
Psalm 145:17-21 “The Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desires of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and save them. The Lord preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh shall bless His holy name. Forever and ever."
Psalm 147:3-6 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. He lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground.”
