Seven Blessings in The Book of Revelation
I am willing to say that most Christians living today have heard about the Book of Revelation as written by John. If you are like me, we haven’t spent much time reading this book, because it has a great deal of verses, hard to understand. The symbols and the meanings are graphic and not easy to read.
It is, of course, the second coming of Christ where He comes to judge the world and depicts a dire, horrific warning for all who are not true believers in Christ. I am not qualified by any means to interpret this book but I am going to point out the Seven Blessings that are yet to be fulfilled and to encourage all to come into the knowledge, understanding, and truth of God’s word.
Definition of blessed: To make holy, sacred; to regard in reverential respect. Our greatest blessing is the Holy Spirit working within us, as a reminder of how blessed we are truly are.
The Blessings and Truth found in the Book of Revelation.
Revelation 1:3 “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” (see Luke 11:28)
Many will say, well it’s been 2000 years since Christ was crucified, so it’s unlikely it will come any time soon. Let us remember that time in God’s eyes are far different than in ours. As found in 2 Peter 3:8 “But beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years is as one day.” (see also Psalm 90:4) My friends, in God’s time frame this would be like two days ago. Think on that for a few moments.
Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Blessed indeed, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them.” It says who die In the Lord. In the Lord means one is a true believer and a faithful follower of Christ.
Revelation 16:15 “ Behold, I am coming like a thief ! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed.” The Lord is stressing the need for constant readiness for His return. When we least expect that it will happen is when it will. Only God knows and is telling us to prepare. Are you prepared for His return ? (see Matthew 24:36-44)
Revelation 19:9 “ Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he(angel) said to me, these are the true words of God. On the day of judgement the bride (the church) will be united with the groom( Christ) and we, (the quests) shall be invited to the marriage supper. All those who have received the gift of grace through faith will join in with great joy and celebration as we usher in the promise of God's Kingdom. Have you received the gift of grace and will you be invited to this glorious event ?
Revelation 20:6 “Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection.” Be filled with eager anticipation and hope of this blessed, sacred event. Psalm 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Revelation 22:7 “ Behold , I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” Again, a reminder that quickly, in God’s eyes, happened the day before yesterday. Are you spending time in God’s word and loving Him in all that you say, think and do ?
Revelation 22:14 “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. (See Proverbs 11:30) Also in Rev.22:12 “ I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.’ Are you following and obeying the will of the Lord and walking in His ways ? Are you living your life through Him, and for Him and with Him ?
My friends, let these verses speak to you and encourage you to come into the truth and knowledge of Jesus Christ and prepare yourself for the second coming of Our Lord and Savior. Let us be reminded of what Jesus himself taught us in Matthew 6:10 “ Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Make no mistake about this, He will come again !! What a blessing this will be !
