Growing in Faith
2 Corinthians 5: 7 “ For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Growing in our faith is a journey, a process, that takes for many of us, a lifetime to achieve. We come to realize how difficult it is to put our hope and trust into what we cannot see, physically touch, and embrace.
We live in the flesh in a broken, fallen world and the pressures of life and living can be enormous. Working, going to school, raising children, relationships, financial pressures play a part in dragging us down. We experience heartache, disappointment, stress, anxiety, doubts, uncertainties and the constant temptations that easily lead us away from God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As a believer in Christ we must continually turn to scripture and allow Christ to speak to our hearts. Growing in faith requires a constant reading of Gods’ words and praying to Him on a daily basis. Here are five verses to help us in our spiritual journey this week.
Hebrews 10: 22-23 “ Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. v23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.”
Draw near with a true heart – in full assurance of faith- from an evil conscience -washed with pure water- holding fast to hope-without wavering- for God’s faithful promises to us- stirring up love and good works. Powerful messages to meditate, memorize and encourage you this week and forever.
Hebrews 11: 1,3 “ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. v3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen, were not made of things which are visible.’ Let these words fill your heart and enlighten your eyes to understanding the incomprehensible power of almighty God and who He is.
Hebrews 11: 6 “ Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” You cannot please God without faith and by living your life in the flesh. You must be persistent in pursuing God in spirit and truth by understanding who He is and what He does for us on a daily basis.
